How It Works

What the x-ray does to pick up a photo of the bones.

You may know the science and the history of the x-ray, but you may be asking how the x-ray works. When a solid object is placed between the tube and the fluorescent screen will display an image of the receiver blocking the beam of the object, depending on structure and density of it. The x-ray is produced with two different machines, or mechanisms.

Bremsstrahlung (brem-SHTRA-lung) is characteristic radiation. Bremsstrahlung is a German word meaning braking radiation. Characteristic radiation is made when an electron from the at high-speed hits an atom of metal, which is the target, and will throw out another electron from an inner shell.
When the x-ray was first invented, it took Professer Whilhelm Conrad Röentgen and other scientists many years to discover more facts about medical radiation and the x-ray. New notes of how the x-ray worked were taken everywhere.
